Ready to go off the beaten path? Then head east to Portland - Jamaica's best kept secret!

Buckle up and take the wheel of your own MINI Cooper during this first-of-its-kind tour that’ll take you from Ocho Rios to Portland the birthplace of Jamaican tourism, where you’ll get to See, Touch, Taste and Drive your own island experience!

Follow behind an experienced guide in your own MINI Cooper for the day and make stops at numerous sites and local hotspots that will take your breath away. First, cruise through a countryside town to a plantation that is steeped in history and dates back to the 1700’s. Once you arrive, you’ll see and learn about various fruit trees and herbs before sampling fresh juices and fruits straight from the tree to your plate.

Next, discover the beach that inspired the famous James Bond series, James Bond Beach; here you can take a dip in the crystal clear Caribbean Sea, purchase a fresh coconut and go craft shopping for souvenirs. Afterwards, drive back in time to a local Maroon village where you’ll experience the life of a Maroon by joining in on some singing and drumming with the locals before being served a delicious lunch.

Then jump back in your MINI and prepare to be blown away by one of the most beautiful views of Jamaica’s north coast at Firefly, the former residence of Henry Morgan and later Noel Coward. It’s time to take your island experience into your own hands, but get ready because there’s nothing ‘mini’ about it!

We love our community and as a result Island Routes will be donating a portion of proceeds to benefit the local communities that we call home.
